Looking at youth not for who they are; but for what they can become.”
Mentorship/Job Shadowing…
is an activity that provides a real-life sense of learning. Being involved in actual job sites, working with successful people, and getting paid to learn is quite the opportunity to begin building your career.
What’s in it for me?
Mentoring
Adults Mentoring Youths
Our Youth Leaders not only have the important role of teaching; but, are also mentors. Leaders form important relationships with youth and become positive adults in their lives who can be called upon in hardship or celebration.
Youth Mentoring Children
Believing that mentorship is valuable at any level, we try to create ways in which our youth can also be mentors to younger children. This develops a great sense of community among kids and also among families.
Job Shadowing
Is an academically motivating activity designed to give our young adults the unique opportunity of an up-close look at the “world of work”and provide the answer to the commonly asked question, “Why do I have to learn this?” Students have the opportunity to “shadow” work place mentors as they go through a normal day on the job. The program invites students to see firsthand how the skills learned in school relate to the workforce.
